I ended my last blog under the befuddlement of wondering what God actually is. All I know for sure is that I’ve had some very distinct experiences of what I would call a higher power. It’s purely subjective. I’d be in some pretty dicey waters if I thought I could project my experiences on to other people. The best I can do is help others have their own experiences. This still brings us back to the question, “What is God”? Quite honsetly, I’m not sure. But my expereinces seem to indicate it’s something bigger than us all.
We’re humans. We’re limited. We’re a somewhat insignificant blip on the radar screen of creation. How can we experience and understand the totality of an infinite Divine? We can’t. We can only experience what we’re capable of, through our senses and the awareness of what we are.
However, in that being of human, there are endless worlds in which to explore. The physical world of the five senses is just the tip of a magnificent iceberg. Adventuring into the non-physical realms of the human experience opens the journey exponentially. It leads to an awakening. It’s awakening to an experience of energies that are in us, beyond us and binding us all together. Can we really experience the Divine? Of course, as much as we are humanly possible.
Have you ever had a mystical experience with a presence you would consider to be a higher power?
